The body wraps that I do are for Addictions and Detoxification only.
The patient is in his/her bathing suit and wrapped up like a mummy amongst a cold
sheet, flannel sheet and plastic which is on the outside.
There are four stages of physiological effects the patient goes through:
Cooling Stage
Natural Stage
Superheating Stage
Excitation Stage
This process I allow 1 ½ hrs or less depending on each individual. Diabetics can use this
modality but they are taken out on the Natural Stage. The vital signs are monitored
frequently and water is administered when the patient requests it.
